02 Nov Pacific Longline Tuna Skipper Training
On 2 November 2018, Key Traceability ran its second skippers training to a captain of the Tunago Pacific Longline Tuna FIP view our fishery progress.
The training aims to introduce FIPs and the MSC and improve P2 knowledge by teaching enhanced species identification, bycatch mitigation, waste management and labour issues. During the training, the captain, not only showed his interests towards those topics but also provided information on how best Key Traceability can implement real practices at sea whenever applicable. This interaction indicates that this fishery is dedicated to the FIP process and its aims, which the consultancy, Key Traceability has constructed for them to progress in this journey.
The training will be continuously improved and delivered to more captains and crew and is expected to help this fishery obtain SC certification.
