29 Oct Tuna Traceability
At Key Traceability we are often pulled into lots of interesting and different projects and end up all over the world. We were recently asked to investigate the traceability of tuna originating from the Eastern Atlantic and within three days we were in the country carrying out the audit. We audited the environmental and social performance of the fishery including interviewing workers to evaluate their labour conditions.
Such an audit must be planned and carried out carefully to ensure accurate results and that workers involved are protected. That’s why we specify exactly how the audit process has to take place in our company quality manuals following international standards. And we ourselves are audited and checked to ensure these are followed and that the outputs are quality assured.
A project like this, is a satisfying job when the results of your work could be making people’s lives better, safer.
